Alexa was diagnosed in 2013, at 15 months old, with stage four neuroblastoma. There was a huge tumor wrapped around her spine and the disease had spread to her bones and bone marrow. Over the next six years she endured three relapses, a stem cell transplant, radiation to her spine and leg, immunotherapy, several rounds of high-dose chemo, and so many other challenges. St. Jude was by our side through it all, and without them she wouldn’t be here with us, in remission, today!
This is her story in a nutshell; it would take a very long time to talk about everything she went through to get to where we are today. We will forever be grateful to St. Jude for saving our granddaughter’s life so that we could go on to tell her story. We raise money for kids just like Alexa so that they can have hope for a cure!
This September, I’m joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
Can I count on your donation to help me reach my goal?
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. Because of our generous donors, St. Jude can provide children cutting-edge treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families.
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer. Thank you for supporting me and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
