Vivian Ruby

Vivian, our sweet 2 1/2 year old ray of sunshine, was taken from us on February 18th, 2019 after a ferocious year and a half battle with cancer. She endured countless chemo treatments & procedures, radiation, brain surgery and a bone marrow transplant, ultimately losing her battle to Acute Myeloid Leukemia. 

Every year, there are 400,000 children diagnosed with cancer around the world and roughly 115,000 died last year from this disease. Pediatric cancer is the number one cause of death by disease in children. For the children that do survive, the treatments are barbaric and have often been around for decades. Childhood cancer also receives just 4% of the annual budget from the National Institute of Health. 

Although it has been incredibly painful to continue our journey without our Vivian, we find ways to honor her and one of them is through St. Jude; they work tirelessly to find better treatments and cures, and they create more clinical trials for cancer than any other children’s hospital. They also have a global impact, helping families from all over the world, especially those who can't afford treatments.
