On Thanksgiving Day 2021, my 5 month old granddaughter, Aria, was diagnosed with non-DS Acute Megakatyoblastic Leukemia. For the next 8 months our family, along side my daughter, son-in-law, and his parents lived in the hospital on shifts during Aria’s treatment. I saw firsthand the treatment, love and care that the St. Jude medical staff pour into their patients, and the heartache that goes along with that. Sadly, Aria passed away at 13 months old but because of St. Jude, we got to spend precious time with her we would have not had otherwise.

I’m joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. By participating in the St. Jude Walk, I am helping to cure childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
