I’m honored to be a St. Jude Hero, running not just for myself but for the kids and families who rely on St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
As a junior at the University of Louisville, I’ve been reflecting a lot on how fortunate I am. Having the physical ability to run, the chance to pursue my goals, and the privilege of incredible support from friends, family, and a community I can reach out to isn’t something I take lightly. These blessings—health, education, and connection—are privileges that inspire me to give back.
Let’s be real—I’m not the most naturally talented runner, but what I lack in speed, I make up for in hard work and determination. The Chicago Marathon will be my fourth marathon, and it’s easily the one I’m most excited for. I’m proud to cross the finish line as a St. Jude Hero, knowing every mile I run supports a cause bigger than myself.
Here’s why your support matters:
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food, so they can focus on helping their child heal.
Innovations at St. Jude have pushed the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to over 80% since the hospital opened. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
Every discovery is shared worldwide, meaning every life saved at St. Jude helps save countless others around the globe.
It’s a privilege to run, to fundraise, and to have a community that stands with me in this effort. Your donation will make a real difference, and together, we can cross the finish line for the kids and families who need us most.
