The recipe to a great Hatem family party did not call for a snazzy specialty drink, an amazing beach side location, or the concoction of a mouth watering meal, all you needed was a larger than life dose of Victor Muazzi Hatem and you were set.
While the parties will continue, they will be a bit less bright as the Hatem family says goodbye to one of the brightest lights of all our family gatherings.
On January 15, 2024, heaven awoke to the sound of Victor’s infectious laugh, and the amazing gift of Victor’s kind and loving spirit.
Victor Hatem was born on March 6, 1960 in Jerusalem to his loving parents Mary and Muazzi Hatem. Upon graduation from Brothers College High School in 1978, Victor immigrated with his family to the United States, where there he began his long tenured career in the world of banking, and his secondary career as a lifelong fan of the Miami Dolphins, Miami Heat, and the Florida Gators.
When he wasn’t watching or daydreaming about Dan Marino in his heyday, or appeasing his sweet tooth by sneaking treats from the refrigerator in the dark of night, Victor spent his days fishing, cooking, singing, and most of all laughing.
While always a fan of shopping and finding a deal, there was nothing Victor loved or cherished more than his wife Asmaa, and his three amazing sons Alexander, Christopher, and Nicolas.
A wonderful husband and father, Victor’s greatest joy and life’s purpose was his beautiful family.
An avid traveler, Victor loved his peaceful and serene visits to Morocco, and his many one of a kind adventures around the globe. From his travels, Victor made numerous friends who have reached out to share their fond memories and condolences. From Australia, to Syria, and beyond, it is clear Victor made his mark on this world.
At his core, Victor had a tender heart, a compassionate and spiritual soul, and a steadfast love for all those around him.
Victor will be forever missed and always cherished by his devoted wife Asmaa, and his loving sons Alexander, Christopher, and Nicolas, his siblings; Louis (Nour) who proceed him in death, Fouad (Samera), Antoinette (Ibraham), Samira (Elias), Issa (Khouloud), Rima (Toufic), Louisa (Abraham), and his numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Victor was preceded in death and welcomed into his Father’s heavenly house by his parents Mary and Muazzi Hatem.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd from 6pm to 7pm for family and friends at Saint Jude Melkite Greek Catholic Church, 126 SE 15th Road, Miami, Florida 33129 (On Brickell Avenue). A funeral mass will be held at 7pm following visitation.
Burial services will be held on Wednesday, January 24th at 11am at Caballero Rivero Palms Woodlawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 27100 Old Dixie Hwy, Naranja, FL 33032. A mercy meal is to follow at the home of Fouad and Samera Hatem, 25451 SW 152 Ave, Homestead, Florida, 33032.
Should you wish to extend an expression of your sympathy to the Hatem family, please consider an offering of flowers, or in recognition of Victor’s commitment and charitable efforts to children’s services, a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
During this very difficult time the Hatem family takes comfort and pride in a beautiful life that was lived generously and faithfully.
May he rest in peace, and may his memory be eternal.
