Christy's family has asked that any contributions in Christy's honor be made to St. Jude's. This is quite fitting given Christy's long career as a nurse and her love of children. A large portion of Christy's career was spent as a Clinical Nurse Specialist in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit at Stanford Children's. If you asked her kids what their mom did, they said, "She saves babies."
-------------------
Christy was a most gifted nurse. Her contributions to nursing had lasting impacts on her patients, families, coworkers, and the many nurses she mentored throughout her career. Christy was not only brilliant but also tackled nursing challenges with humor and enthusiasm. She had a deep understanding behind the science of what she did at the bedside, but she also had a gift for the art of nursing. Christy never lost sight that she was taking care of someone’s loved ones. Her contributions were many and live on through the lives she touched, the many lives she saved, and the many nurses she mentored. All who worked with her benefited from working beside someone with a true gift for both the science and art of nursing. Christy truly embodied excellence throughout her career and led with her heart.

We invite anyone who wishes to show their support by sharing a favorite memory and by giving to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
Everything they do is centered around finding cures and saving children. They do so much to support families when cure is not possible. For these reasons and others, we have chosen to support St. Jude through this special fund.
