Dear Family and Friends,
As you know, I had the pleasure of running the 2022 TCS NYC Marathon for Team St. Jude. With your help, I was able to raise over $26k for the children being treated at St. Jude. I was the top fundraiser for that event and it's all because of your generosity...Thank you again for all of your support!
As some of you may know, I will be at it again in the Spring...this time, I will be running the TCS London Marathon on April 21, 2024. I am 1 of 22 runners who has been selected to represent Team St. Jude as a St. Jude Hero. I am honored to have been chosen and to have been tasked with raising money to help end childhood cancer.
Growing up, I watched family members and friends struggle through cancer treatments at a young age, and it was very painful to watch them, and their families suffer. The sadness associated with witnessing someone battle cancer is multifaceted, encompassing both the physical and emotional aspects of the disease. I've been very fortunate to be in good health and blessed to be able to raise three healthy children with my wife. I am in awe of the strength and resilience sick children and their families have to fight a life-threatening illness.
My many blessings drive me to run for and continue to support an organization that I've been a part of for over 20 years. At this point in my life, I am fortunate to be able to support this amazing foundation both physically and monetarily. I hope to never hear the words; "your child has cancer" and I hope that by running and fundraising, those words are never spoken again to any family. For the parents who currently have children battling, I hope that my efforts continue to get us to a place where those words will cease to exist.
Despite the sadness that accompanies watching the struggles of people with cancer, there can also be moments of resilience, courage, and love. Many individuals facing cancer demonstrate incredible strength, and the support of family and friends can make a significant difference in their journey.
I have chosen to run for a reason bigger than myself by fundraising for the kids and families at St. Jude. As a St. Jude Hero, I am training to cross the finish line on race day and with your donation we can cross the fundraising finish line together because the money you donate helps find a cure for childhood cancer.
Did you know:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Please donate today to help me reach my goal. Even when the race is over, the fight to end childhood cancer continues!
Thank you for all of your support and generosity!
Love,
Anthony
