Uphold our promise to St. Jude Founder, Frater Danny Thomas (Gamma Nu-Toledo), to be a leader in service. At St. Jude, one thing has always been certain: families will never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food.

Before Thomas could make his dream of building St. Jude a reality, he garnered the help of people all over the world.

Rock 'n' roll legend and fellow Tau Kappa Epsilon member Elvis Presley was an early supporter who lent his talents to help raise funds for cancer-stricken children.

More than 30 years ago, Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity joined the fight against childhood cancer when Danny Thomas, fraternity member from the Gamma-Nu chapter at the University of Toledo, asked his fraternity to help him with his cause.

TKE chapters across the country raised money for St. Jude during the 1970s and 1980s.

TKE renewed its partnership with St. Jude in 2008. In 2011, TKE pledged to raise $1 million in five years, which would go toward the naming of an MRI suite in the Chili’s Care Center on the St. Jude campus. TKE met this goal a year early.

  4. Researcher Yao Weiguang working with a machine at the hospital.

At the beginning of 2016, TKE pledged to raise $2.6 million toward the naming of the proton therapy synchrotron/particle accelerator in the Red Frog Proton Therapy Center. In early 2019, TKE hit this incredible milestone.
