FUNDS RAISED FOR St. Jude
Thanks for your interest in St. Jude Telethon for St. Jude!
For over 40 years, the St. Jude Telethon has given our community a way to join the fight against childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. The St. Jude Telethon is broadcast live from the Peoria Civic Center and Illinois Wesleyan University on WEEK-TV News Channel 25. Each hour, local leaders and St. Jude supporters serve as Telethon VIPs, committed to raising funds for the kids of St. Jude. The lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee, was brought to central Illinois by Jim Maloof in 1972 through the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate Clinic. The funds we raise through the telethon help ensure families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food -- because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
What your support means: Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened more than 50 years ago. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children. If you have questions, please contact Corinne Olson at (309) 566-3509, or Shyanne Sisk in Bloomington at (309) 566-3515.
