Childhood is a magical experience that every child deserves to have protected. There are many ways we can hide the harsh truths and unfair social injustices of the real world from children, however, when a child is severely sick,  they are forced to grow up much faster than their peers. Children with cancer and life threatening diseases have a fortitude beyond their years. Their ability to rise above their circumstances needs more than kind words, it needs tangible resources and teams dedicated to providing them with empathetic care. St. Jude Children's Research Hospital not only treats these children's medical condition, their research fuels a hope beyond what we may see in our own lifetime, the hope that we can save more lives. The hope that we can give every child a childhood that they deserve. This year my goal is to raise $1700, the cost for one day of intravenous chemotherapy for a leukemia or solid tumor patient. I would like to help make a child's life easier, even if it's for one day. I would like to show our next generation that there are people out who would help them through really difficult circumstances, with nothing in return. I would like a child that might not survive to adulthood to know regardless of the length of their life, that their life is  precious.
