Why We Support St. Jude

St. Jude Walk/Run - Memphis, TN

Team Jacob the Lionhearted

Our warrior Jacob was diagnosed with a brain tumor on February 16th, 2024, a day we will never forget. After 2 brain surgeries, we went back to our home in New Mexico to wait and learn what the next steps would be. In March we were referred to St Jude Children's Research Hospital where Jacob spent 8 weeks undergoing a total of 30 proton radiation treatment sessions. We returned on August 1st, to continue a second phase of his journey and will be here at St Jude to run in-person at the Memphis event. It's by the dedication of our care team, the stories of perseverance from other families we've had the honor to meet, and hanging onto the goodness of God, that we continue to hope and join the fight to end childhood cancer.

Throughout all of this, we have witnessed the bravery and grit of our young warrior, he truly has the heart of a lion.

That’s why our team has signed up to fundraise for the St. Jude Walk/Run this September as we join the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude.

We would love for you to join our team.

And if you are able or willing, a donation can steward the research and serve so many families.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is leading the way the world understands, treats, and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing, or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. Because of our generous donors, St. Jude can provide children with cutting-edge treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families.

When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.

Thank you for supporting us and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.

Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
