Making memories. Supporting a mission. That’s why our team has signed up to fundraise for the St. Jude Walk/Run this September as we join the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude. 

Supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is deeply personal for me. In 2006, when I was just six years old, I lost a dear friend named JJ to brain cancer. J.J. had beautiful blue eyes and the sweetest smile that touched so many hearts and lives in his short time with us. The loss of JJ had a profound impact on my life, instilling in me a deep sense of empathy and a desire to make a difference for other children facing similar battles.

St. Jude is an extraordinary organization that stands at the forefront of pediatric cancer research and treatment. They are relentless in their pursuit of new cures and treatments, ensuring that no family ever receives a bill for treatment, travel, housing, or food. This mission is crucial because it allows families to focus entirely on their child's recovery without the added stress of financial burdens.

JJ's battle with brain cancer opened my eyes to the harsh realities that many children and their families face. His strength and courage have inspired me to support St. Jude, an institution that embodies hope and dedication. By donating to St. Jude, I feel connected to JJ's memory, contributing to a cause that aims to save lives and alleviate suffering.

Supporting St. Jude means honoring the memory of my friend JJ and countless other children who have faced unimaginable challenges. It is a way to give back and help ensure that other children have a fighting chance at life, surrounded by the best care and supported by cutting-edge research. For me, it's not just a cause—it's a commitment to hope, healing, and a future where no child has to endure the pain of cancer.

Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. Because of our generous donors, St. Jude can provide children cutting-edge treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families. 

When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
