Why We Support St. Jude

St. Jude Walk/Run - Bloomington-Normal, IL

Team ESA IL (Epsilon Sigma Alpha)

Epsilon Sigma Alpha (ESA) Illinois started working with St. Jude in October 1969 largely in part to efforts by Marilyn Knuth and Jim Maloof. ESA International and St. Jude have a 50-year history, Danny Thomas came to ESA and asked us to help and since 1972 we have been making memories, supporting our mission.

Team ESA IL has been part of the St. Jude Walk/Run since it's inception when it used to be held in November as part of the Give Thanks campaign, then we moved outside in November in Illinois (brrrr), then finally, it moved to September which is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month On September 17, we’re joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Can we count on your donation to support our team?

Since the hospital was founded 60 years ago, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent.

And because St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.

Thank you for supporting us and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today. Any donation, no matter the amount, makes a difference to the patients and families of St. Jude.

Let’s cure childhood cancer.

Together.

All of us!

We can do it!
