Why we support St. Jude
Purple Power
My story
I was diagnosed in November of 2022 with Stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. If not through treatment that was most likely researched at St Jude; my journey could and would be dramatically different. I also work for St Jude, and frankly, it has been inspiring to me what the children go through, and persevere despite it. It is because of St Jude that I have been able to financially support my family, be an active giving member of the community, and afford the costs associated with my treatment.
How can you help?
Do not think that this is just for monetary donations. Another way you can help is just to come out and do the walk/run with me. Volunteer at the event itself by manning water stations, sign-up information, etc.
Why I Support St. Jude
Making memories. Supporting a mission. That’s why I’ve signed up to fundraise for the St. Jude Walk/Run. This September, I’m joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Can I count on you to help me reach my goal?
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was considered incurable. Since then, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent.
And because St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Thank you for supporting me and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today. Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
Oh, snap y'all! One of our patients made some artwork for us. The link is below if you want to check it out.
Really, an important part to me is that the artwork was done by some besides me, who is benefiting from all of the work and wonderful people at St Jude as well. I can only tell people so much about the work we do. Something as simple as this makes it more tangible for folks. I think these kids are impossibly tough, and that fact made me feel really bad about whining during my own treatments.
Come join the team, and tell everyone about our goal, about our mission.
