Why We support St. Jude

St. Jude Walk/Run - Baton Rouge, LA

Dane Strong

On March 9th, it was Dane's 6th birthday. It was also the day he had to be hospitalized because he was sick. He spent the entire week in the hospital and received blood transfusions because his hemoglobin was extremely low. The doctors didnt have answers for us. On March 13th, Dane had to have a bone marrow biopsy done. The next day we received the worst news imaginable. We were told he had B Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Dane and his family left for Memphis, TN to begin treatment. After that, it will be a 2-3 year battle. But he is strong and we will get through this. He has a big support team on his side and we are very fortunate for that. We appreciate everyone who has shown support during this difficult time. Our little buddy is strong. He's got this!

Thank you,
The Thompson Family

We've signed up for the St. Jude Walk/Run to help St. Jude find cures for childhood cancer. We need your help to reach our fundraising goal. Support us joining our team, donating to our team, or by making a donation to a team member.

Why we support St. Jude:

* Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. We won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
* St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
* Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything - because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
