Before you read the boiler plate language provided by St. Jude, I want to tell you why St. Jude is so important to me personally.
As a three-time cancer survivor, my heart breaks at the thought of a child having to go through cancer treatment or that child’s parents having to be afraid of losing their precious little one.
When I received my second cancer diagnosis, my son was eighteen years old, and I cried tears of joy that it was I and not he who had cancer. I hate to imagine what it would do to me now if either of his two little ones were to suffer such a fate.
I would love to live to see the day when cancer—especially childhood cancer—is eradicated.
I’m joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most—the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. By participating in the St. Jude Walk, I am helping to cure childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Can I count on your donation to help me reach my goal?
Because of generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food—so they can focus on helping their child live. By donating to my fundraising efforts, you are helping to make that possible.
Thank you for supporting me and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
