St. Jude had been a part of my life since I was a little kid. When I was four years old, I went to my first St. Jude Walk at the SF Zoo. My mom had joined a fundraising team because a family friend was suffering from pediatric cancer. At this point, I didn’t really understand the impact cancer had on children and families, but as I grew older and started fundraising, I began to understand why this was important. On my recent visit to the hospital in Memphis, I heard so many patients’ stories and was inspired by their strength and courage. I now understand that there are children in hospitals all over the world that are sick and terrified that their days are limited. Then I reflect on my life, in which I go to school, hang out with friends, and play soccer, and I know that I can make a difference. I know that I can spend my time on something more meaningful, that I can help children and join the fight against cancer.
Will you join me, too?
