This September our family is joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®.
When our son, Dominic, was 7 months old he was diagnosed with FPIES (Food Protein Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome), a rare food allergy in the gastrointestinal system. My husband and I have been able to successfully navigate his syndrome with daily food trials for the past 3 years and we are optimistic that his FPIES will be in the rear view mirror in the near future (majority of children outgrow FPIES).
While there have been a number difficult times during our son’s FPIES journey, we know there are families who go through much worse. This month we want to take the opportunity to help these families by participating in St. Jude’s Walk/Run. Our goal is to raise $2,500 and we hope you will support us. Any amount, no matter the size, will help us reach our goal, but more importantly help St. Jude families.
Can we count on your donation to help us reach our goal?
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. Because of generous donors, St. Jude can provide children cutting-edge treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families.
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%. Thank you for supporting us and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
