Charlotte has been fighting a Brain Tumor since she was 4 years old - we just didn't know that until shortly after she turned 7!! She was diagnosed with a Craniopharyngioma at the end of 2022. Despite being classified as benign, its impact is profound, impacting every aspect of life from physical health to emotional well-being. This tumor drastically affects vision, hormone regulation, metabolic cognitive function and also has a very high recurrence rate of approximately 50%. Craniopharyngioma, is one of the most challenging benign tumors, and has about 100 new pediatric diagnoses a year in the US.
St. Jude has treated more of these nasty Nuggets (Charlie's Nickname for her Tumor) than anywhere else! Charlotte was added to the research Protocol and is still an active patient. At St. Judes, Charlotte has received top of the line care and continues to. She has also made amazing friends! Not only other Cranio kids but several other kiddos fighting Cancer.
St. Jude is a 4 star Charity with a 100% Rating on Charity Navigator! For every dollar they get they only spend .05 cents on administrative costs.
That’s why our team has signed up to fundraise for the St. Jude Walk/Run this September as we join the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude.
Can we count on you to make a donation or join our team?
We set our Team Goal (Team Charlotte's Fight Club!) of $16,000 to help 4 other children get the same proton bean radiation Charlotte received.
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital® is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. Because of our generous donors, St. Jude can provide children cutting-edge treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families.
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
Thank you for supporting us and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
