I’m joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. By participating in the St. Jude Walk, I am helping to cure childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
My granddaughter Millie was diagnosed with Leukemia at 21 months old and was referred to St Jude for treatment. Hearing that diagnosis is absolutely devastating and brings a huge sense of fear. The hope they provide along with prayer makes this journey a little easier. I have always been a supporter of St. Jude and what they do for children. You watch the commercials and it really hits your heart. You really don’t understand the realm of what they do until you experience it yourself. Now I watch the commercials and cry because I see what they do. Our kids pay for nothing. Housing, food, travel and all medical expenses are paid by St. Jude. Wow how fortunate we are. Millie has been cancer free for almost a year post treatment! I wish I could pay back all of what St. Jude has given us but that would be impossible. I can’t even put in to words all they do. This is my way to give back. Pleas help us in this fight to cure childhood cancer so no child will ever have to go through this again. One more thing. St. Jude has an affiliate here in Tulsa. We are so fortunate to have that in our city! Thank you so much for your support!
