This September, my wife Melanie and I are joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. We are running for Team Mariah. Mariah is my close friend Nick Ricketts daughter. We are running in his stead as the family has recently relocated to Tennessee for Mariah's continued treatment.
Unlike most charities where you never know how the money is used, I can personally attest to the fact the the Ricketts family has been charged zero dollars and zero cents for Mariah's continued treatment, the housing and relocation Nick's entire family or even their meals. This is a real deal, solid way to spend your money to help the Ricketts and other families in similar situations. If you know me personally you know I would not say this unless I knew it to be true.
Thank you for reading this and I implore you to search your heart as you realize this could happen to anyone of us.
Can I count on your donation to help me reach my goal?
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. Because of our generous donors, St. Jude can provide children cutting-edge treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families.
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer. Thank you for supporting me and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
