Hannah's Story
In July 2020, Hannah was diagnosed with an inoperable brain stem tumor (ganglioglioma) and our family faced the unimaginable. Nothing will ever prepare you to hear the words, “Your child has cancer.” We have since been being blessed by family, friends, and medical teams who have lifted Hannah up in prayer and cheered her on as she’s made it through some really hard challenges- multiple brain surgeries and chemotherapy in 2020 followed by Proton Radiation Therapy at St. Jude in 2022. Hannah currently returns to St. Jude every three months for follow-up imaging and check-ups with her fantastic team of doctors. While we are still waiting to see if the Proton Radiation Therapy was successful in “killing” her tumor, our family is hopeful that there is still more that can be done to help Hannah live a long and full life. We wake up every day full of gratitude that she is able to continue living without side effects or complications. But God!
That’s why our family has signed up to fundraise for the St. Jude Walk/Run. This September, we’re joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — Hannah and her friends at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Can we count on your donation to support our team? Better yet…would you like to join our team and walk with us?
Since its founding 60 years ago, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent. And because St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Thank you for supporting us and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
