My family participates in the St. Jude Walk to raise money for St. Jude’s unwavering dedication to curing childhood cancer and endless support of their patients and their patients' families. Please join us as we raise money for this critical life-giving mission. We need your help! Please support us by making a donation or by joining our team, Corley Crew, and fundraising with us!
Two of our biggest blessings are celebrated on the same day every year: our son, Brooks, turns another year older and he is one more year post-treatment! Three years have passed since his personal “No More Chemo Party” and he is now 4 years old! In a time of desperation and fear after Brooks had been diagnosed with an aggressive soft tissue cancer, Embryonal Rhabdomyosarcoma, St. Jude offered us hope as they helped us navigate a diagnosis no parents are ever prepared to hear. When statistics were overwhelming, the St. Jude team was positive and steady as they guided us through the next steps. Through surgery, chemo, and now post-treatment with ongoing screenings, they have cared for our family in a profound way and have done so with compassion and joy. To say we are thankful doesn’t seem to convey the level of gratitude we have for St. Jude.
In addition to their phenomenal care of Brooks and being a St. Jude parents, these are some of the other reasons why we support St. Jude:
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall survival rate for childhood cancer from less than 20% when we first opened our doors to 80% today. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- St. Jude has the first and only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center devoted solely to children!
