This September, we are joining the nationwide movement to raise money for St Jude Children’s Research Hospital - the hospital that saved our daughter, Taryn’s life.
When Taryn was 2 ½ years old, she was diagnosed with a rare brain stem tumor and we were told she would have 2 to 3 months to live. The amazing neuro-oncology team at St Jude’s was undeterred by this prognosis and immediately came up with an aggressive treatment plan. They gave us such HOPE when everything seemed hopeless. Because of the generous donations they receive, St. Jude was able to provide Taryn with 6 weeks of cutting-edge proton radiation treatment and multiple brain surgeries at no cost to us. Also, because of donations, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for travel, housing or food either. This financial support truly made it possible for us to completely focus on helping Taryn get better and for us to fight this together as a family.
Five years later, Taryn is now a kind and funny 2nd grader who loves karate, soccer, stuffed animals and playing with her dog Jack.
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and they won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for supporting our family and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
