It has been over three years since we lost out little Connor but not a day goes by that I don't think of him. Taken too soon from us by a vicious childhood illness, cancer. That's why my fight to end childhood cancer continues.
Connor received an unparalleled level of care at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital that allowed us to spend years with him that we otherwise would not have had. Please read the poem I wrote on the day of his passing and then donate to this worthy cause so that others may live.
WHEREDID CONNOR GO
We wonder why the sun still shines, or moonlights up the night.
They do ignore the fit we’re in, the fervorof our plight.
We wonder where the goodness went, did eviltake its place?
It’s hard to look at life this day, with innocenceand grace.
We wonder why the tide rolls in, it seems auseless task.
Just tell us why, it makes no sense, is thattoo much to ask?
We wonder most where Connor is, our hearts domiss him so,
Too soon from us be torn apart, too soon hehad to go.
Oh where is he, that precious boy, a lad we heldso dear.
And then we hear his sweet response, “I’llalways be right here!”
“With you now I’ll always be, and ever will Istay,
A part of you forever more, I will not goaway.”
So let the sun shine every day, embrace thelight it gives,
And gaze upon the moonlit sky, enjoy the glowthat is.
And be content with ebb and flow, as tidecontinues on.
Life gives us both, there’s no escape, it’sjust the way it’s done.
We’ll wonder not from this day on, wheregoodness went this year,
The comforting words he speaks to us, “I’llalways be right here”.
