If you are here reading this, welcome!! Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart for joining our Team and making a donation toward our St. Jude Walk/Run this year in support of Alexa and all of our St. Jude kids!! It means so much to have you in our corner, be it your first time, or a returning supporter!! I've set our NanaPapa for the A-Team goal at $7,000 once again this year. I know TOGETHER, we can make this happen!!
I am so pleased to report that Alexa is doing great! As a reminder, she was diagnosed at age 15 months old with stage 4 neuroblastoma. She just turned ELEVEN years old in April!! She has been in remission for three years now, and two more years she will be deemed cancer free!! She continues to have routine scans and we never ever take for granted each and every one of her "no evidence of disease" results. We are ohhhhh so thankful!
Alexa has conquered so much these past 9+ years! She continues to be my little hero! We thank God first and foremost for answered prayer and we give Him, as her Great Physician, all of the honor and glory for this! We are continually grateful for St. Jude and how He has used them to continue their mission in treating and saving children's lives. Because of St. Jude, our Alexa has a chance to grow and thrive into the beautiful young lady He has created her to be.
Alexa has been active in many things since last year's update, including her recent very first camp experience to Camp Hope, made available by St. Jude! She was able to sit around a campfire, make s'mores, ride horses, swim, zip line (her favorite), make new friends, and so much more! She had a blast and can't wait to go back next year! She also keeps busy with her one-year-old baby sister. :) She has recently started ballet once again this year. She does great in school - straight A student! She has a kind, loving, caring, compassionate, funny personality and I love spending time with her any chance I get!
I want those of you who have supported our mission through your generous giving to know that because of YOU and your donation, you have played such an important part in all of these things! Without your support, Alexa and these kids would not receive the amazing care they do. St. Jude works endlessly and steadfastly, striving to find a cure for childhood cancer, constantly researching and working hard each and every day and night. I know they won't stop until that cure is found! They have come such a long way!! When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was considered incurable. Let that sink in. Incurable. Since then, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent!! And because St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children!
Let's keep fighting; let's keep working; let's keep funding for these kids! TOGETHER, we CAN make a difference!!
With Love & A Grateful Heart,
Ann for the NanaPapa Team
