Why I Support St. Jude
Making memories. Supporting a mission. That’s why I’ve signed up to fundraise for the St. Jude Walk/Run. This September, I’m joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
My first exposure to St. Jude come through my connection with Delta Delta Delta and our philanthropy partnership. I have had the opportunity to tour the hospital and see the amazing impact St. Jude has on its patients and their families. Our local Tri Delta alumnae chapter has been a fundraising team since 2013. We raise funds for the Bloomington event, but we hold events in the Champaign-Urbana area. We have added different ways to increase our fundraising contributions with events like Trekking with Tri Delta and Zumbathon.
Can I count on your donation to help me reach my goal?
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was considered incurable. Since then, treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent.
And because St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Thank you for supporting me and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today. Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
