Hello friends and family,
When my son and daughter were small and I saw a St. Jude commercial on TV I always cried and thought how unfair and awful it was that a child would have to go through cancer treatment and possibly not survive.
On October 6, 2004 I became the mom of a 4 year old girl diagnosed with leukemia. To say our family was devastated is an understatement. Sarah endured over 2 years of hospitalization, chemotherapy and 2 bone marrow transplants but the cancer was so aggressive that it could not be stopped. She passed away at 6 years old. Just as I imagined years prior, it was and remains unfair and awful.
Sarah was never a patient at St. Jude although her treatment protocol came directly from St. Jude which allowed us to stay close to home with our massive support system.
1 out of 5 children will not survive cancer diagnosis.
Won?t you please help by donating any amount possible to make sure children and their families do not have to worry about the financial toll of pediatric cancer.
Thank you for supporting me and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
