This is the 12th year Ed, Megan and I have participated in the St. Jude walk. Dylan shared his St. Jude story at the 2008 and 2009 walk knowing he wasn't going to be cured. He was so grateful for the family and friends that helped fundraise those 2 years. Unfortunately Dylan lost his battle with cancer on June 8, 2010. We have had to walk with him as our heavenly angel and inspiration to keep fighting for a cure for Childhood Cancer. Dylan called a family meeting when he was told his cancer was terminal and asked us to raise money to find a cure because he didn't want any other child or parent to have to experience what we did.
I was recently asked how long will you keep fundraising for St. Jude. I hesitated, thought about it, and responded FOREVER, that's what Dylan wanted and would have done if he was still with us.
Last year team Dylan7 raised the 4th largest amount in the country, $80,204! WE are humbled and honored to have such amazing supporters!
In 2019 please consider supporting me and Dylan's legacy by making a donation or by joining my team.
Why I support St. Jude:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for anything – because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate for childhood cancer from less than 20% when we first opened our doors to 80% today. St. Jude won’t stop until no child dies from cancer.
