Friends!
→ Hello and welcome to my page!
Some of you may be here to just drop a donation, some of you may be just checking out the page, and some of you may be prospective Fantasy for St. Jude’s players so here’s the basic info about me and my walk:
This is my 14th straight doing the walk for St. Jude’s. We’ve really hit our stride the last few years thanks in large part to networking and the previously mentioned, Fantasy for St. Jude’s.
Last year we set our personal fundraising records with $5380 on 127 (!) donors! Our donor high-mark was set the year before with 139. Over the last 3 years, we’ve raised over $14,000 for this incredible place and we look to top all our records this year. We’ve established ourselves as one of the top teams on a regular basis and generally the only one of those in the upper echelon with no corporate sponsor.
→ That’s because our fundraising is one giant grassroots effort. We’ve averaged 128 donors these last three years. I’d rather have 100 folks donate $5 to my walk than 1 person give $500.
St. Jude’s founder, the late great Danny Thomas once said “ “I’d rather have a million people give me a dollar than one give me a million” and that’s the same basic principal I try to operate under. I want to get as many people involved as I can because together we can change the world.
→ Quick synopsis of Fantasy for St. Jude’s: I run two yearly fantasy leagues in support of my walk. The concept is simple: Drop a donation in (of any amount) and get an invite! Leagues are on Yahoo and are a lot of fun for a good cause.
Currently we do an NHL regular fantasy league and an NFL Pickem: Both leagues (held on the yahoo platform) had a record number of participants in their 2023-2024 seasons and again, I am hoping to break both those marks this year! After donation, you’d simple email me or message me and tell me you’re in and I would get you an invite!
→ Now before I conclude my spiel, here are some facts about this amazing place you’d be supporting:
Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. Because of our generous donors, St. Jude can provide children cutting-edge treatments not covered by insurance, at no cost to families.
When St. Jude opened in 1962, childhood cancer was largely considered incurable. Since then, St. Jude has helped push the overall survival rate from 20% to more than 80%, and we won't stop until no child dies from cancer. Thank you for supporting me and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
Let’s cure childhood cancer. Together.
