Team Cora - Napa

On January 2, 2025, our lives changed in an instant when our 21-month-old daughter, Cora, was diagnosed with Wilms tumor, a rare form of childhood kidney cancer. She immediately underwent major surgery to remove an 10 cm, 1.5-pound tumor along with her right kidney. Thanks to her incredible medical team, the surgery was successful and saved her life. 

Over the next nine months, Cora endured three more surgeries, months of chemotherapy, countless scans, overnight hospital stays, and challenges no child should ever have to face. Yet through it all, she remained the same joyful little girl—smiling, singing, and brightening the halls of the hospital with her sweet spirit. Her courage inspired everyone who met her, along with the multitude of supporters who stood by our family. 

In August 2025, Cora proudly rang the bell, marking the end of her treatment. Today, she remains in remission and continues to be closely monitored every three months. Our gratitude is impossible to put into words. Cora's strength, resilience, and unwavering joy have forever changed us and reminded us of the incredible hope that children and support communities can bring, even in the hardest moments. 

As we launch Team Cora in support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, we are deeply grateful to each of you, Wilson Daniels, and the Underwood Family Foundation for your unwavering support of Cora and the fight against pediatric cancer. Your generosity and compassion mean more to our family than words can express, and helps provide hope, life-saving care, and financial relief to children and families facing the unimaginable, just as it did for ours.
