Jaxon Light

Welcome to Jaxon’s Light, our team created in loving memory of our son, Jaxon Kash Rodriguez.

Jaxon was born on August 9, 2021, and brought immeasurable love, joy, and light into our lives. At just 8 months old, our world changed forever when he was diagnosed with restrictive cardiomyopathy (RCM), the rarest form of pediatric cardiomyopathy, accounting for only 2–5% of pediatric cardiomyopathy cases. Despite his incredible strength and courageous fight, Jaxon passed away on May 5, 2022.

Following his passing, we learned through autopsy that Jaxon also had neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer that accounts for approximately 8–10% of pediatric cancers. The occurrence of both restrictive cardiomyopathy and neuroblastoma in the same infant is extraordinarily rare, with very few documented cases reported in medical literature.

We created Jaxon’s Light to honor Jaxon’s beautiful life, raise awareness for children facing rare and life-threatening illnesses, and support the lifesaving mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Every step we take and every donation made helps bring hope to children and families facing the unimaginable.
