I?m joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most ? the kids of St. Jude Children?s Research Hospital®. By participating in the St. Jude Walk, I am helping to cure childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
My son, Seneca, is a survivor of Acute Promyeloctyic Leukemia (APL). He was diagnosed with APL and a traumatic brain injury on the same day. Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital in Baton Rouge saved his life and St. Jude covered payments beyond insurance. He has been cancer free since October, 2021 and returns to the St. Jude Clinic at Our Lady of the Lake Children's Hospital once a year for his annual checkup.
