I have dedicated my life and my career to serving the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. When I was in third grade and my family moved to Tennessee, I quickly became aware of St. Jude, because it was in our backyard and through the St. Jude Math-a-Thon program. This mission became deeply personal to me in fourth grade when my best friend, Stephanie, became a St. Jude patient. I lost her during my senior year of high school. Her life, and the heartbreak of losing her, changed the course of mine.
Since then, I have dedicated my career to making sure other families have what Stephanie’s family so desperately wanted: more time, more hope, and the chance for their children to grow up. I believe no family should ever have to experience the unimaginable pain of losing a child. Ensuring families have hope, access to lifesaving care, and the chance to bring their children home is what St. Jude provides. I have spent my life fighting for children in her honor.
And now, after losing my own son, albeit not to cancer, I understand even more deeply why this mission matters. No parent should have to bury their child. I am committed to doing everything I can to help make sure fewer families ever have to.
I hope you’ll consider supporting St. Jude as we continue Finding Cures. Saving Children. Everywhere.
