Because St Jude supported our family when we needed it most.
Our son Jaxon was 5 years old when he was diagnosed with in inoperable brain tumor - stage 4 glioblastoma. He needed 6 weeks of radiation therapy to his brain and our brain tumor coordinator from St Jude offered for us to move to Tennessee so Jaxon could receive his treatment there. It was a decision we didn’t think twice about. We knew Jaxon would be in the most capable hands. What we didn’t realize is that we, his parents, would also be in the very best hands.
From the moment we made the decision to move, everything was coordinated for us. Our flights, our accommodations, Jaxon’s doctors appointments, central line placement, lab draws, physical therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy and eventually even a little school time. All we had to think about was supporting Jaxon to navigate through this nightmare. Every single person we encountered at St Jude was a light… down to the Starbucks baristas. It truly is the best place you never want to be.
Although shortly after his 7th birthday, Jaxon lost his battle, we will forever be grateful for the love and care we received from St Jude.
Please help us to support St Jude by donating or raising money, and join our team to walk, remember and honor Jaxon and all children who are currently battling or who have lost their lives to childhood cancer.
All our love,
The Curiel’s
I’m joining the nationwide movement to honor Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and support those who need us most — the kids of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®. By participating in the St. Jude Walk, I am helping to cure childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Can I count on your donation to help me reach my goal?
Because of generous donors, families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food – so they can focus on helping their child live. By donating to my fundraising efforts, you are helping to make that possible.
Thank you for supporting me and the lifesaving work happening at St. Jude today.
