Ty's Troop

Thanks for visiting the Ty's Troop fundraising page for the St. Jude Walk!

Ty was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on April 28, 2021.  He was playing basketball, about to wrap up Kindergarten and start his first ever baseball season.  Instead, we were sent to St Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis to start treatment right away.  After just two weeks of intense treatment, he reached remission.  The last 2.5 years were spent getting weekly chemo at the St Jude Midwest Affiliate in Peoria and St Jude Children's Research Hospital to make sure it never comes back.  Ty's finished treatment in January 2024 with a No More Chemo party.  

That is a very long time to be receiving consistent medical treatments.  Its been full of chemo, X-rays, imaging, lumbar punctures, more labs that you can imagine, hospital inpatient stays, blood and platelet transfusions, surgeries, doctor check-ups, many miles driven, and medications.  St Jude hasn't sent us a single bill.  They have covered everything regarding his treatment, as well as transportation, housing and food while we are on the main Memphis campus.  He is now in 5th grade and THRIVING!
