St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is special to many and has saved millions of lives; however, it is extra special to me.
Hello! My name is Sydney Ballard, and I am 20 years old. I am a twin, and my twin, Savannah, was diagnosed with Melanoma when she was little. Thanks to St. Jude, she is cancer-free and is now in college! She studies Pre-Med at Baptist Health Sciences University and will go on to medical schools with hopes to become a Pediatric Surgical Oncologist! St. Jude saved her life, and now she wants to return the favor!
Along with studying Pre-Med, Savannah loves riding her Quarter Horse/Arabian horse, April. They love to do hunter/jumper, and they tag along with me to barrel races!
I have a 12 year old Quarter Horse that I barrel race with! I am so proud to be able to say that this year at the St. Jude Barrel Jam on February 23rd-25th, I am riding for Savannah!
Having a twin is like having a built-in best friend. We may bicker like siblings sometimes, but at the end of the day, we know that we will always have each other! I cannot imagine my life with Savannah!
Thank you, St. Jude, for not only saving my sister, but for saving my best friend!
I am raising funds to support St. Jude Children's Research Hospital's lifesaving mission of finding cures for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases, and I need your help to reach my fundraising goal.
How your donation helps:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened in 1962. And we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands of children.
Thank you for your support! Together we can help St. Jude change the world.
