My name is Steve Taylor (aka: TARZAN) and this is my story. I am a retired Deputy Sheriff (34 years/Davidson County, Nashville) and US Navy Veteran....On January 16, 2017, I was diagnosed with Non Hoskins Lymphoma
(Mantle Cell) stage 4. After my first 6 months of chemotherapy, I was given the opportunity to be a candidate for stem cell transplant. In November 2017 we started down that path. Lots of shots, high dose chemotherapy, medicine changes, etc. But, here's the kicker..... During all my pain and illness, I could not stop thinking of all the children that go through these horrible treatments to possibly live longer. The changes to a child's body and mind are heartbreaking, and especially for the parents, simply because they have no control over this disease and cannot do anything but watch their child go through this.
So with all this in mind, I am needing monetary sponsors for the St. Judes Research Hospital Motorcycle Ride in the fall. I plan to keep this campaign active throughout the year, every year, until I can no longer ride. 100% of donations will go to St. Jude. Thanks to everyone for your support and God Bless.
How your donation helps:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago. We won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is leading the way the world understands, treats and defeats childhood cancer and other life-threatening diseases. St. Jude freely shares the discoveries it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands more children.
Thank you for your support! Together we can help St. Jude change the world.
