On July 20th, I will be participating in the 47th St. Jude Telethon and answering phones on air from 8pm to 9pm. I am honored to be a part of this event that raises funds for St. Jude's incredibly important mission.
I will be representing The Tessa Sutton Foundation which was created in honor of my sister, Tessa Sutton, who passed away in 2023 following a nearly 2-year battle with pediatric cancer. Tessa was diagnosed with an aggressive form of sarcoma in her right chest wall at the age of 15 during her freshman year of high school. Throughout her battle, Tessa displayed amazing strength and grace, often worrying more about others than herself. When it became apparent that a cure was not to be, Tessa helped her family create the foundation that bears her name. She had many ideas of how she wanted to give back and "pay forward" the incredible community support shown to her and her family and The Tessa Sutton Foundation strives every day to bring those ideas to reality including by supporting St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
The Tessa Sutton Foundation has been proud to donate over $10,000 to St. Jude over the past year and participate in the St. Jude Telethon as another way of helping to raise funds that St. Jude relies on for its lifesaving mission of finding cures for children battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
Tessa was a patient at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital many times during her battle with cancer and my family and I cannot adequately put into words how much the support, treatment, and research made available by St. Jude meant to us and to Tessa. If you are able to, I would greatly appreciate your support to St. Jude via any of the multiple ways in which donations can be provided.
Be a part of the fight against childhood cancer. Your pledge will truly make a difference!
How your donation helps:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — so they can focus on helping their child live
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened in 1962. And we won't stop until no child dies from cancer.
- St. Jude shares the breakthroughs it makes, and every child saved at St. Jude means doctors and scientists worldwide can use that knowledge to save thousands of children.
Thank you for your support! Together we can help St. Jude change the world.
