In a few short weeks, I will be participating in the 47th Annual St Jude Telethon as VIP in the first ever “Rashid Row.”
St. Jude has been a part of my family’s legacy for more than 50 years — honestly as long as I can remember. ALSAC (the dedicated fundraising arm for St Jude) was founded by a Rashid, and I’m a proud descendent of Rashid’s on both sides of my family.
This past year the life-saving mission of St. Jude hit especially close to home, when our cousin was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma. He is in remission now, thanks to the outstanding care he received from the St. Jude Midwest Affiliate right here in my hometown - Peoria, IL.
