In 2010, Childhood Cancer became real to me. That was the year I met Taylor (standing next to me in the photo above). She had returned to school after getting her life-saving bone marrow transplant only to have kidney complications forcing her to not be able to go to school a few months later. So I taught Kindergarten to Taylor at home. Before I even met her she had battled cancer twice. This girl has gone through so much in her life and often times when I feel like life has handed me a raw deal, I think of Taylor and keep on going. Because by the age of 5 all Taylor ever wanted was to be able to go to school and have a dog. (Both of which she does now!) There are so many joys in life we take for granted. This year I have set a goal to ride 50 miles during Ride for a Reason Benefiting St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital and the Life Time Foundation!
I’m raising funds as a St. Jude Hero® as I ride for healthier kids in support of St. Jude and the Life Time Foundation.
St. Jude and Life Time are united in the mission of helping kids get healthy. St. Jude is leading the fight against childhood cancer, and the Life Time Foundation is committed to improving school lunch programs.
The funds I raise will help kids everywhere. Please donate to help me reach my goal!
