Why I support St. Jude:
As many of you know, my niece Annabelle began treatment at St. Jude in November of 2021 at the age of 15. She has spent most of her high school years out of the classroom and in Memphis getting treatment. A couple weeks ago Annabelle, Tina and Larry came for a visit while checking out Purdue University. She has set her sights on being nurse! Just as we were getting ready to play some euchre (at Bella's suggestion!), she developed a fever and off to the ER they went. Day 2 of her Purdue visit was put on hold, and today, 17 days later, was her first day back to school after continual care in and out of the hospital with St. Jude in Peoria. Her perseverance is indescribable when you see her in action.
Bella ran this run last year, and she is looking forward to running it again this year. How she knocked out 26 miles of the run while undergoing treatment is amazing to me! I have joined the team and will be running from Minonk to Peoria St. Jude with Bella and her team.
Thank you for visiting my St. Jude Runs fundraising page!
St. Jude Runs is more than a run — I’m going the distance to support the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Finding cures. Saving children.®
