Why I support St. Jude:
Thank you for visiting my St. Jude Runs fundraising page! This is something I have said I was going to do for awhile but finally decided I was to going to do more then just talk about it. The idea of being up for 24 hours to cover 135 miles sounds terrible but I know when I cross the finish line it will be worth it. All treatment at St. Jude is done free of charge and it’s fundraisers like this that make that possible. Being a mom myself makes it even more important to me that I can help children and families effected by childhood cancer. My back will hurt, my feet will be blistered, and my knees will feel like they are crumbling but it’s still nothing compared to what these kids and families endure. When I run into Peoria and see the sweet faces of these kids that have been through more in their few years on this earth than I have in my 42 years, I know that this run that once sounded like a terrible idea will actually end up being one of the smarter ideas I’ve had!!!
I appreciate any dollar amount that you can donate, but if you are unable to, please keep all of us runners in your thoughts and prayers for a safe, successful run on Aug 4 & 5. Thanks!!
Elizabeth
St. Jude Runs is more than a run — I’m going the distance to support the mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital: Finding cures. Saving children.®
Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20 percent to more than 80 percent since it opened 60 years ago— but there is still work to be done.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer, and neither will I. Will you support me by making a donation today? Let’s cross the finish line together!
