I am honored to be a member of Hudson's Bandaid Brigade for this years St. Jude Peoria Run. As most of you know, Hudson is my 5 year old nephew who became a St. Jude kid in January after it was discovered he had a Wilm's Tumor, a rare childhood kidney cancer. He has been a fighter through all of this, and St. Jude has been such a blessing for our family.
I also know another little fighter, Dylan, who was diagnosed with Leukemia at 20 months old and became a St. Jude kid. He spent weeks in the hospital as a part of his initial treatment, and still has many many months of treatment left.
I always 'knew' of the wonderful things St. Jude did for kids battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases, but i never imagined that it would be MY friends and family that needed St. Jude.
Thanks to generous donors:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
Please consider donating and supporting my goal of running for past, current, and future children of St. Jude.
