I'm part of this year's relay team for the St. Jude Peoria Run. Please help me reach my fundraising goal for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
On a personal level, I support St. Jude because of my Uncle Chris and Aunt Roz. This year is my Uncle Chris’ 30th and last year running for St. Jude. And all along the way, my Aunt Roz worked behind the scenes to support the runners and fundraising efforts.
There were many summers spent in Peoria helping get ready for the telethon and making signs to cheer on my uncle and my dad (who also ran the St. Jude Run for five years) to cheer them on as they ran into the civic center for their finish.
I’m lucky to have grown up watching my family give back in big ways. They have been such an inspiration to me.
To celebrate my uncle this year, I decided its time for me to lace up my running shoes and do my part to support St. Jude.
Thanks to generous donors:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer, and neither will I. Will you support me by making a donation?
