This year is the first time that I have participated in the St. Jude Chillicothe to Peoria Run. I have donated each year for as long as I can remember, but was never physically able to run it. This year, I AM RUNNING IT!!! The route passes our house and every year we stand outside and wave to the runners as they battle the heat and the huge hill and they still manage to smile back at us and give us the biggest high fives.. Every year, I find myself crying happy tears when they run by from all of the positive energy in the moment and the thought of all of their efforts going to help such sick kids. The feeling that I get when I see these runners is amazing and I am SO excited to be a part of that this year. I hope that we never need the services of St. Jude, but now that I have kids of my own, I feel even stronger about this event. Words can not explain how excited I am to actually participate this year and to be able to contribute so much more than my usual donation to a few people that run. Please help me reach my fundraising goal for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases. Since this is my first year running, I am keeping the goal modest, but I REALLY hope I can raise so much more. Every little bit counts!
Thanks to generous donors:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer, and neither will I. Will you please support me by making a donation?
