Each year I run in "honor" of someone who is a cancer warrior, and in "memory" of someone who fought with all of their might. This year I will run in honor of my friend Dane Perdieu who amazes me with his strength and courage. I will also be running in memory of Colby Young. I was so drawn to his mom Kristian Young on a flight from San Francisco to Charlotte that I googled her to find out why God had put her in my path. Her son had passed away at age 15 of a brain tumor. She had a St. Jude connection and a story I needed to know. I will run each step this year with Dane and Cobly in my heart.
My son Joey will be running beside me this year. We are so incredibly blessed and want to give hope to those in need! Please consider making a donation to our St. Jude Run. 100% goes to support the patients and the families!
Thanks to generous donors:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer, and neither will I.
