On Saturday July 17, 2021 I will be running in the 40th Annual St. Jude Run. Over the past 40 years this run has raised awareness of and financial support for the children and families of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Each runner makes a commitment to raise $1000.00 by the day of the run.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the 2020 St. Jude Run was an all virtual event. This year’s run will look a little different as well. Some runners will run together from Bloomington to Peoria, and some runners will participate virtually. All of us will run with the same goal in mind: we will run because they can’t. We will continue running and raising awareness and support until no child dies of cancer.
The patients of St. Jude, across the world, never receive a bill for their treatment, travel, housing or food. The only thing these patient’s families need to think about is helping their child to get well. I have had the opportunity to tour the Research Hospital in Memphis and to see the way the incredible ways the patients and their families are cared for. The majority of St. Jude’s funding comes from individual contributors. This allows St. Jude the freedom to treat these precious children regardless of the family’s financial situation.
Thank you for visiting this site and considering to make a donation to St. Jude through support of the 2021 St. Jude Run.
With sincere gratitude,
