Family and Friends,
I'm am excited to once again be participating in this year's relay team for the St. Jude Peoria Run. Please help me reach my fundraising goal for the kids of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, who are battling cancer and other life-threatening diseases.
As most of you are aware, my niece Hayden Wheatley was diagnosed on April 26, 2016 with a rare form of brain cancer called Anaplastic Ependymoma. She battled for her life day in and day out for months. She endured brain surgery, multiple Chemotherapy and Radiation rounds, strokes, cardiac arrest and many other terrible things that no child should ever have to go through. Many days, we weren't sure she would be here the next day with us. She fought her battle and won against all the odds that were stacked against her. She is truly a miracle and is still free of disease today.
St. Jude holds a very big place in my families hearts as they do so much for children that battle exactly the way my niece did. The financial burden of treatment can be unbearable, and thanks to St. Jude, that is never a concern to the families who are treated there.
Thanks to generous donors:
- Families never receive a bill from St. Jude for treatment, travel, housing or food — because all a family should worry about is helping their child live.
- Treatments invented at St. Jude have helped push the overall childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to more than 80% since it opened more than 50 years ago.
St. Jude won't stop until no child dies from cancer, and neither will I. Will you support me by making a donation?
Thank you all so much for your support
- Sarah Braden
