St Jude Runs means more to me than I could ever put into words. It is a long line of family tradition of supporting St Jude. It started with my sweet grandma who volunteered at the Peoria affiliate for many years. I can remember going to the hospital with her when I was a kid. Seeing first hand how amazing this place was and how it was much more than a hospital. My dad was on the first Memphis to Peoria Run, him along with 17 other runners ran 465 miles all for the kids of St Jude. My mom joined him a few years later and together they ran for almost 20 years. 7 years ago I decided it was my turn to help this amazing organization and I joined the Springfield Run. Today, run day has become my favorite day of the whole year. Nothing is better than knowing that I am a very small part of something that has done so much good. St Jude founder, Danny Thomas said "I'd rather have a million people give me a dollar than one give me a million. That way you've got a million people involved." That exact thought is why St Jude Runs has become so successful.
There is no donation too small or too big. Every single dollar helps the kids of St Jude.
